Dans for alle | Workshop with Keir Patrick

Onsdag 26. november klokken 18:00–19:30

Improvisasjon med Keir Patrick
(Passer for alle voksne)

Reflecting on the collaborative and inclusive methodology of Second Hand Dance, Keir's class will explore improvisation through playfulness. We will tap into movement games and tools in the existing repertoire of the company and find new ways to create, discover and become curious about our physicality.

Using breath, anatomical simplicity and release-based principles, we will warm up our bodies working with strength, clarity, feeling and form, rhythm and musicality. We will follow this with the chance to move solo or as an ensemble, and begin to work with some contact. Our ultimate aim will be to remember our sense of childlike imagination together and experience how movement can offer us joy.

Keir trained at Laban and did his postgraduate at London Contemporary Dance School (EDGE company). He was a member of Ben Wright’s bgroup and has worked for Clod Ensemble, Nigel Charnock, Siobhan Davies, Maresa von Stockert, Colette Sadler, Katie Green, Theo Clinkard, Bare Bones and Malmo Opera and at the Royal Opera House. He has been working with Michael Keegan Dolan since 2011: Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre’s Rian (2011–2014) and Rite of Spring and Petrushka (2013) and Handel’s Julius Caesar with ENO at The Coliseum in London (2012). For Teaċ Damsa, he has performed and toured internationally in Swan Lake / Loch na hEala (2017-2018) and MÁM (2019-2024).

With Second Hand Dance, he has performed in several international touring shows for younger audiences:- Grass, Getting Dressed and Night Tree. He is rehearsal director for We Touch, We Play, We Dance (2018-2024) a work for babies, early years and SEND audiences, and company tour manager for The Sticky Dance (2024) an interactive show with sticky tape!
